Originated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2013 and now a Partner Fund of NJ Sharing Network (NJSN), The Wave Set was founded by brothers Jared and Cameron Wohl leading up to Jared’s donation of 65 percent of his liver to Cameron, saving his life.

The Wave Set is dedicated to spreading awareness and educating on the importance of organ donation, while helping to create a culture of love, unity and selflessness, thus showing the world that “We Are Vital to Each other.” As co-founders, Jared and Cameron have planned and executed speaking engagements and fundraising events to support The Wave Set’s mission.

In 2011, The Wave Set launched a successful crowdfunding campaign to fund its documentary – 65 Percent – on the living donor transplant experience. Upon premiering, 65 Percent was featured at multiple film festivals, including Hoboken International Film Festival, Indie Street Film Festival, New Filmmakers New York, Kingston Film Festival (where it received the Directors Award), and Sun & Sand Mississippi Film & Music Festival.

In April 2024, in celebration of Jared and Cameron’s10-year transplant anniversary, The Wave Set donated $10,000 as a Founding Partner to NJSN’s Joseph S. Roth Simulation Center. The Joseph S. Roth Simulation Training Center is designed to help prepare clinical teams with the best hands-on learning options available to manage organ and tissue donors and support families. It features advanced technologies and equipment used in partner hospitals throughout New Jersey, including patient simulators, monitors, ventilators, and video.

The Wave Set has been featured in national, regional, and local media coverage across 50+ digital, print and broadcast outlets, including Yahoo! News, ABC7 New York, PIX11, USA Today High School Sports, UNOS Transplant Living, Crowdfund Insider, News 12 New Jersey, KTU 103.5 FM, On New Jersey, and Patch.
